Terry Lovell Brown, Sr.
Pastor Brown has been a Christian since the age of 22, despite having grown up in church since birth. His most dominate pastoral influences are: his late grandfather and first pastor, the Reverend Joseph Brown, Sr.; his father in ministry, the late Dr. A. Louis Patterson, Jr., and his Bishop, Dr. James W. E. Dixon, II.
Pastor Brown graduated from Texas Southern University of Houston, Texas and attended Dallas Theological Seminary. After moving to Los Angeles, California, he completed the “Passing The Mantle” Community Development Institute of The University of Southern California. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology. He serves on the Board of Directors of ImagineLA, a non-profit organization involved with providing wrap-around services for formerly homeless families in the LA area.
Pastor Brown has been honored to be the preacher/speaker at many churches, revivals and colleges around the country. He has served as Dean of the Ministers’ Conference of the Los Angeles District Association as well as Vice-President of Christian Education of the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Los Angeles and Southern California.
He served as pastor of his childhood church, the Pure Light Baptist Church, Houston, Texas from 1997 to 2004 and has served as Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church of Los Angeles, California since October of 2004. Moved by the unction of the Holy Spirit, his friend and mentor, Dr. Johnny V. Baylor, appointed him to serve as the 4th pastor of the Judson Baptist Church of Carson on April 3, 2020, making Pastor Brown the pastor of two churches. This move of God has expanded his message and ministry across Southern California as he serves both the Liberty and Judson Churches.
