Dr. Sarai St.Cyr Baylor is the wife of our illustrious pastor, Dr. Johnny V. Baylor. She is the mother of three daughters and grandmother of two granddaughters. First Lady, Dr. Baylor is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Baylor has been an educator for almost 33 years, holding credentials in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education and Special Education. Currently, she works for Los Angeles Unified School District as an Adapted Physical Education Teacher.
She attended Grambling State University (B.S.), the University of New Orleans (M.Ed.), the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (Ed.S. with an emphasis in Educational Administration), and recently graduated with an ED.D in Educational Studies from Talbot School of Theology of Biola University in La Mirada, Ca. The title of Dr. Baylor's dissertation is "A Survey of Ethnic and Racial Identity Issues with Implication for Christian Formation in Protestant Christian African American Women.
Dr. Baylor is the current Director of Christian Education of Judson Baptist Church. She is also the leader of the Prayer Ministry, consultant to the Scholarship Ministry, co-founder and academic advisor for the Vessels of Praise Dance Ministry. She has accompanied her husband on mission trips to Ghana, West Africa, Brazil, Germany, Sidney, Australia, Israel, and Greece. She is a prolific speaker, mentor, teacher, and lay counselor and a member of Women in Position which is an organization of women in ministry leadership. Dr. Baylor is committed to the vision of Judson Baptist Church and is passionate about her call to fulfill the mandate given to the pastor to develop Judson into a church called and committed to spiritual excellence.
